Sea Otter Europe prepares its biggest edition in Girona

Girona will host the tenth edition of Shimano Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona by Garmin, from September 18 to 20, which the organization presents as the largest in its history. The festival will bring together more than 500 brands, will have free admission and will offer three days of sport, leisure and activities for all kinds of audiences.

The event will once again combine top-level competition, open events for amateurs, talks, music, gastronomy and spaces for families. After bringing together 74,000 visitors last year, the event is growing by 10% in exhibition space and reinforces its role as a major showcase for cycling in southern Europe.

In the commercial area, attendees will be able to discover the latest products from more than 500 international brands. The Demobike, with free reservations to test bicycles on designated circuits, will also remain active, one of the festival's most in-demand activities. In addition, professionals will have access to Sea Otter Connect, with talks on cycle tourism, industry and health, and with the notable presence of Paul Walsh, CEO of European Cycling Industries.

In the sports section, the program will include the 226ERS UCI Gravel World Series, a qualifier for the UCI Gravel World Championships, and the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup, which will close the world XCM season. In gravel, names such as Marianne Vos and Lukas Baum, while in marathon the world champions Andreas Seewald and Anna Weinbeer, as well as the Spaniard David Valerowill compete. The Gravel World Cup can also be followed live on Eurosport and on the YouTube channels of OcisportTV and EvasiónTV.

The schedule will be completed with events such as the Shimano Super Cup Massi, the Spanish XCE Championship, the Continental Series XCE, the XCC Continental Series, the SCOTT Marathon BTT, the XCM Open World Cup, La Tramun Curta, the Ciclobrava by Lapierre, the Continental Gravel Ride Tour, the Shimano Super Cup Youth, the Copa Girona Trial, the Mini DH, the MTB Classic and the Canyon Social Gravel Time Trial.

The organization will divide the venue into four zones: red, with spaces for professionals and the start of the Demobike; green, with the large stands, the main stage and the gastronomic offering; yellow, with services for participants; and pink, with brands, the Euro Mobility Festival, competitions, live music and catering. There will also be presentations on the main stage, children's activities, face painting, workshops, DJ sets, magic and talks open to the public.
