Source: Canyon. The German brand is releasing a two-part documentary that follows two employees and novice cyclists, Mira Thelen and Ilkin Yagubov, in their challenge to complete the 100 km course of The Traka, one of Europe’s most demanding gravel races.
The story does not try to polish anything: it shows the real preparation process, with more than 200 days of training, doubts, hard moments and also small victories. Mira, who had gone almost eight years without getting back on a bike, and Ilkin, whose initial motivation was “the pasta”, represent that more human side of gravel that many cyclists recognize when they are starting out. The underlying message is clear: the pleasure of riding a bike is not only for professionals; anyone who pedals is part of it.
The documentary premieres in two episodes: the first, Fish Out Of Water, arrives on June 29, and the second, on July 3. Canyon presents it as an honest, funny and at times painful look at learning, suffering and growing on the bike.
